Unpublishable #2: Tetractys

Introducing a new series of essays, bits of bad writing and poems, and whatever else I make that doesn’t fit into a traditional writing format.

My second issue is from the time I went full hipster artist deep into exploring different forms of poetry. What I like about tetractys is how it feels very mathematical and robotic, and yet it flows very naturally and humanly.

1,2,3,4,10 – Tetractys:

From Wikipedia:

is a triangular figure consisting of ten points arranged in four rows: one, two, three, and four points in each row, which is the geometrical representation of the fourth triangular number. As a mystical symbol, it was very important to the secret worship of Pythagoreanism.

Or less insanely

In English-language poetry, a tetractys is a syllable-counting form with five lines. The first line has one syllable, the second has two syllables, the third line has three syllables, the fourth line has four syllables, and the fifth line has ten syllables.

Without further delay here are my terrible and unpublishable tetractys

plus two
is three plus
three add four is
ten. that’s euclids magic number series

so bright
screw you edison
I believe tesla to be a wizard
History is made by those that write it
tell me the truth
no more lies

so much fun
helium air
enjoy before it pops or floats away
it up
rock and roll
human nature
push the edge and go hardcore; believe it

it is in the air all around us all
broken spirit
lifted high

from the pack
a tad bit off
baptized by guitar in sonic floods

Everyone has a tune, wrote this for you
listen for it

the blues dont keep away christmas spirit

standing on
dont tread on me
come down here, lets have a conversation

put your hand inside of the puppet head

come on in
you’re welcome here
please do not take off your pants and jacket
heres some cookies now give me your jacket

britle thing

never let me down, kept me standing tall

If you have some unpublishable works of art and despite all signs telling you to not, I would love to feature it here with you.
